, we need to be out there telling the iowa people, tell our representatives especially the representative who represents this district and my representative, representative tom latham, that we are here. we might not get media coverage like the dreamers in california or the dreamers in the eastern coast, but we are here, we are present. we've been here for several years. i want to give a thank you to senator dick durbin for introducing the dreamer act in 2001. in 2001 i was 8 years old, roughly about third grade. i had no idea that something that had happened so long ago would have an impact now, because my parents, they believe that the dreamer act would have passed and they would not have had to tell me i was undocumented. so i am here because of the nonpassage of the dream act. so for me to be here now 12 years later looking back, it really shows how we need to come together and we need to keep advocating for this comprehensive immigration reform, because we really need this. i don't want to wait another 12 years and have my now 9-year-old brother turn to me and say,

of the outbreak. they identified an american-owned salad processing plant in mexico as the source in iowa and nebraska. so far the source of cases in 14 other case remains elusive. here's charles hadlock. >> the fda said packaged salads of lettuce, cabbage and carrots picked in san miguel mexico are the source of sickness in at least two states. the mexico plant is owned by taylor farms of salinas, california and was last inspected by the fda 2 years ago. the contaminated salad mix was served in olive garden in iowa and nebraska. in the first lawsuit related, a texas woman claims she was sickened by psych low spora after eating at an olive garden in texas. both are owned by darden restaurants, the defendant in the suit. the spokesman had no comment on the lawsuit, but said the texas restaurants are served by a different supplier, adding iowa and nebraska health officials said this is not an ongoing outbreak and the product is no longer in the food supply in those states. darden is fully cooperating with the investigation. the last illness in iowa or nebraska was reported july 2nd. they re

bachmann won the iowa straw poll. now, given the fact that her competition was one of the weakest presidential primary fields ever in american history, it sort of seemed like winning the straw poll might mean she was going to be a contender. for about a minute. the expectation that the straw poll win might propel her to win the iowa caucuses and that would propel her to do well in the primaries overall was cut short in iowa when something strange happened in her campaign right before the iowa caucuses. it was kind of a shock at the time. but it was unexplained. it was clear something weird was going on, but not exactly what. now, today, for the first time, we actually have clarity on what happened. less than a week before iowa caucuses, michele bachmann's presidential campaign was basically derailed when its co-chairman in iowa quit her campaign abruptly and endorsed ron paul instead. it was this republican state senator in iowa, a man named kent sorenson, who defected from the bachman campaign a week before the caulk caucuses and decided tone doris ron paul. at the time the bachm
